My two new books are probably my own latest news. People are also talking about Robyn Opie's upbeat Australian website which can be very helpful to writers, especially those just starting out, and anyone interested in marketing. It includes a video interview and also, two free books to download. You'll find Robyn at www.robynopie.com.
Although I'm working on longer writing projects now, I enjoy visits and will be available for a limited number of school and library presentations this fall and in early 2009. I'll be continuing with bookstore readings and signings - book fairs, too.
My school presentations are usually in the mornings and take about 45 minutes to an hour, much less for younger children. In one kind of presentation, I read and bring materials to show how a children's book is put together. In another, my books are spring boards for having fun with ideas and inviting everyone joins in on an interactive group story. I also make easel or board drawings for kindergarteners and first graders, often in their classrooms. Presentations can be varied to fit everyone's needs, but the last few minutes are always set aside for questions. There can be more than one presentation on a school visit, and comfortable, more informal settings and smaller group sizes (under 70 children) are also a big plus. Fees are dependent upon distances, travel, budgets, and the number of presentations needed. For more information or to arrange an event, contact me at sarahwilsonbooks@sbcglobal.net.
